AoIR2022 COVID-19 protocol

To protect the health of everyone in the AoIR community during the conference, we invite you to follow these guidelines relating to COVID-19.

  • Please wear a mask while attending panels or other research events.
  • If you feel comfortable doing so, do remove your mask while presenting to facilitate audibility for audience members. We strongly encourage the use of a microphone if one is available.
  • Please wear a mask while moving around campus buildings. Note that there are other people on campus who are not members of AoIR and who may not be wearing masks.
  • Masks will need to be removed during refreshment and meal periods but please be considerate of your colleagues during those times.
  • Respect the boundaries set by others. Remember that other people’s circumstances are unknown. Some people may be unable to wear a mask. Other people may be uncomfortable with contact or close proximity. Others may be at higher risk of infection. Don’t make assumptions that your experience applies to everyone.
  • If you test positive for Covid or experience symptoms during the conference, please do not attend. Contact ConfChair@aoir.org by email if this circumstance impacts presenting your work.
  • We recommend wearing masks on public transport while travelling to and from the venue.
  • Face masks must be worn in medical settings – this is government policy.
  • Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) can be purchased at pharmacies and in some supermarkets. For your own peace of mind, we strongly recommend travelling with your own supply of RATs, of the type you are most familiar and comfortable with
  • If you are travelling internationally, we strongly recommend that in advance of travelling you are familiar with any rules about barriers to travel or re-entering your country of origin that may exist due to COVID-19.

Ensuring the conference is as safe and COVID-free as possible is the collective responsibility of the whole AoIR community, so please approach the event with the interests of your colleagues in mind.
