AoIR 2026 Dissertation Award

The Association of Internet Researchers is accepting nominations for the 2026 AoIR Dissertation Award. Eligible dissertations must be in the area of internet research and must have been filed in the 2025 calendar year — meaning fully defended, all edits complete, and filed or published with a 2025 copyright. All methods and disciplines are welcome. Self-nominations are permitted.

Deadline: May 20, 2026

To submit, email a nomination letter and a PDF copy of the dissertation to dissertationaward[at]aoir.org. The nomination letter should explain why the dissertation deserves the award and how it contributes to internet research. The nominee or their supervisor must be an AoIR member by May 20, 2026.

The award recipient will be announced mid-2026 and will receive a cash prize and an invitation to present their research at AoIR2026 in Mexico City in November 2026.
